This is a unique brass figurine / ornament.......it's quite usual to find a brass deer / buck with NO TAIL, but this one does have a tail!
After researching, I've discovered that Bambi had a tail too, because - like this deer, he was a White Tailed Deer. The tail goes up when the animal feels threatened or in danger, and I'm thrilled that this deer's tail is nicely down:)
The deer is solid brass, with a beautiful verdigris / aged patina. I've left this as it is, some may wish to polish it out, but I feel it enhances the ornament to show it's true age.
He measures seven inches high in total, and just over five inches from nose to tail. He is approx one and a half inches wide (at his feet).
Covered in the spots typical of his breed, he is very regal in appearance.
Add this to your collection of brass figurines, or use as a smart bookend.
