I was watching the absolutely adorable, visually stunning TV show Pushing Daisies on Netflix when an apron caught my eye! One of the characters, Olive Snook, goes to a convent and while twirling on a hill top, à la Sound of Music, her full skirted apron completely captured my attention and inspired a new apron design. I couldn't get it out of my head until I'd made it with my hands!

And that is why I've named this style Olive. :-)

This apron has a gorgeous drop waist which hugs the hips and flares with fullness at just the right spot. It has the best of both worlds, the slimming effect of a flat front with no bulkiness, and the lovely sillhouette of a full skirt, ready to twirl with you as you dance around your house singing while cooking and cleaning. (You do sing and dance while taking care of domestic duties, don't you? I thought so....)

This fabric has a French flare, with cute little café scenes on a pinkish/purplish background, paired with a minty green and chocolate polkadot, and the bottom is trimmed with yellow bias tape to pick up those pops of yellow in the fabric. There are two handy pockets for your convenience. The waist is 32", the length is 26", and the ties are 36".

Thanks so much for looking!
