As sweet as cotton candy and as soft as a cloud, this quilt is the perfect 'Welcome Home' gift for Mom and Baby ~ as a shower gift ~ for grandma's house ~ even a lap blanket for the wheelchair bound ~ there are so many uses for an extra quilt on the arm of your favorite reading chair or laid over the foot of a chaise ~
This quilt is made of vintage premium cotton chenille, some of which is rare and date back to 1940s, 50s and 60s finest manufacturers ~ Hoffman, Bates, Morgan Jones, Cabin Craft, Carter Bros and others ~ designs include pops, lattice, daisies, roses, wedding ring, windowpane, loops, swirls and curls in shades of pink set off with bright white ~ although I can duplicate colors, I can't guarantee exact square designs or availability of exact chenille used in this previously sold sample, however I will work closely with you for your one-of-a-kind design ~
The use of high-loft batting inside gives definition to the fluffy chenille and gives it light-weight warmth making it not only beautiful but cozy as well ~ the backing is ultra light-weight, top-quality, non-pilling pink fleece in the sample but can be made with other choices as well (see below) ~ easy to maintain with cool wash and gentle or line dry ~ with care it will last years and perhaps cover a grandchild some day ~

CUSTOM ORDERS ~
Your quilt, security blanket or lovey can be designed to your specifications in several styles ~ I do not duplicate ~ each quilt or lovey is designed specifically for you ~ although same or similar fabrics or embellishments may be used your design is unique and retired after your purchase ~
Backing choices ~ I offer a choice of fabrics to back security blankets and loveys including high quality, non-pilling flannel in solids and prints ~ minky made in South Korea (the best available) in smooth (low pile), dimple dot, solids, prints (floral, animal, baby theme, etc), eyelash (high pile), marshmallow, high quality quilting cotton, fleece in solids and prints, as well as fabric you provide to be used with or without batting ~
Embellishments ~ offered on custom orders only ~ include binky or teether tabs, pockets for small stuffed animals such as Ty plush animals ~ lace, embroidery, textural elements, chenille flowers ~ anything safe that will fit in the design ~ Appliques prices begin at $6.50 - you also have the option of buying your own (ask me for sources for your design) and mailing it to me to incorporate into your lovey, quilt or security blanket ~ I do not incorporate ribbon loops (or "taggies" which are patented) in my loveys because babies tiny fingers can get caught in ribbon loops, instead I offer (for custom orders only) to add cut ribbons to the edge as an additional embellishment heat-sealed to prevent raveling ~
Price as shown in listing may not reflect labor costs, additional design costs based upon customer's request for premium chenille, additional embellishments or market fluctuations of chenille cost and availability ~ the nature of vintage means we use what becomes available - I can't order the fabric so some of the designs have fabrics I can't replace ~
Photographs are taken to give customers as much information as possible in making a selection. Everything from computer monitors to lighting may affect how the color looks but every effort is made to show details of how the fabric presents ~
As with most vintage fabrics, few chenille fabrics are pristine so slight imperfections are to be expected from time to time ~
