Who's Sitting Bull?
Sitting Bull was a war chief who lead his people in several battles, perhaps the best known being the Battle of Little Bighorn (Custer's Last Stand); during which Lakota and Northern Cheyenne forces were victorious over the U.S. Seventh Cavalry lead by George Custer. Despite the victory at Little Bighorn Sitting Bull was ultimately forced to surrender. Several years later Sitting Bull became somewhat of a celebrity when he joined Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West show as an entertainer.
This print has a rustic feel to it featuring an image of Sitting Bull in the foreground in black set against a red background featuring an image of the Lakota flag. The design includes the four colors of the Lakota red, yellow, black, and white. Sitting Bull's words give us all some insight into why this brave warrior fought.
