Handmade Eco Organic Cactus Skeleton necklace in Silver

I created this necklace by painting precious metal clay (fine silver) onto a dried cactus part that I found on Honeymoon Island in Florida. After painting each layer of silver clay, I let the piece dry for a few days. I have painted over 15 layers of silver onto the cactus skeleton. I then fired it in my kiln and patinaed it with liver of sulfur. It is somewhat heavy because I used a lot of silver to make it. It hangs from an 18 inch sterling silver chain with a sterling silver lobster clasp closure. The pendant started out as an experiment to me, but turned out to be an intriguing treasure. It would look striking against a black top or dress.
