One of the coolest things about my Cattail Candles is the way they burn. There is lots of variation, but they tend to work a bit like luminaries. As the candle burns down, the light from the flame makes the shapes glow. The effect is most dramatic in a dark room.
I make each candle one at a time without molds, so no two are exactly alike. I free-hand cut out the shapes on one end with a craft knife then roll it up from the other end around a metal-free cotton wick.
My candles are made in small batches, allowing for lots of variations. Custom orders are available- please check my alchemy section.
Burn times vary due to the individual nature of these candles, however, from my own tests, the 2x4 size averages around 10 hrs, the 2x6 size averages around 18 hours, and the 3x4 size averages around 25 hours.
To get the most out of your candles (any candle) here are a couple tips:
-Trim wick to 1/4" before lighting. Let burn for 5 minutes, then blow out and let wax set up for a few minutes. Trim wick again, relight, and your candle will burn longer with less chance of smoke.
-Always set candles on holder or saucer.
-Please enjoy them by burning them- I'll make more!
