---About my kanzashi---
Each kanzashi is made to order and features hand-folded petals made from individual squares of carefully prepared silk and other high quality fabrics. For kanzashi that use a patterned fabric, the placement of the pattern may differ from piece to piece. In every other aspect, the kanzashi will be the same or nearly identical to the one pictured. As with all items you see online, please be aware that your monitor may display the color slightly differently.
Fray protector is added to the raw edges to prolong wear. Accessories are displayed on a mannequin, and come from a smoke-free home.
To prolong the life of your kanzashi piece, please keep it out of sunlight and dust. Ideally, it should be kept in a closed container, such as a jewelry box. I do my best to treat the fabric to be as durable as possible, but as with any delicate material, care should be taken when handling and storing your piece.
Your kanzashi will come packaged in a kraft gift box with ribbon or in an organza gift bag, depending on the piece. It will be packed in a sturdy cardboard shipping box with tissue paper to keep it safe during transit.
Shipping price quoted is for USPS 1st Class International Mail. The USPS does not offer delivery time frames or tracking information for this mail class, but it typically takes 2+ weeks for delivery. If you would like to upgrade to Priority International Mail, it will be an additional postage charge of $15-$20, depending on location. Please let me know if you would like to upgrade to Priority International, and I will adjust the listing for you.
---What is tsumami kanzashi?---
Kanzashi are hair ornaments used in traditional Japanese hairstyles. In the English-speaking world, kanzashi has come to represent any fabric flower made with the tsumami folding technique. Each petal is made from an individual square of fabric and folded into a petal shape, and then arranged to form a flower. It is a time-consuming but very rewarding art form. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do :)
