SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN INVESTING IN INSECT DISPLAYS:
+ Are The Backs Of The Frames Truly Sealed?
A tight fitting back and a turn button does not seal a frame. If you can easily open the back of the frame IT”S NOT SEALED and microscopic mites can still get in and damage your investment.
Our Frame Backs Are Sealed Twice! We have created our own unique method of sealing the backs of our frames with a double seal that can not be removed.
+ Is The Glass Front Of The Frame Truly Sealed?
A tight fitting back with a spacer that holds the glass firmly against the front of the frame is NOT SEALED and microscopic mites can still get in and damage your investment.
The glass front of our frames are built with the glass directly inserted into the frame itself forming a bond between the UV Glass coating and the painted finish within the frame for a true seal.
+ Can The Glass Be Removed from The Frame?
If the glass falls out when you open the back of the frame or slides around when you shake the frame, that glass can be removed and IT’S NOT SEALED! Since the glass in our frames is built directly into the frame and sealed our glass will never come out or slide around!
MUSEUMS SEAL THEIR DISPLAYS TO PROTECT THEIR VALUABLE SPECIMENS, YOURS SHOULD BE TRULY SEALED TOO!

These colors are not a result of pigmentation but are a reflection of incident light through the microscopic scales covering the wings.

ABOUT THE BUTTERFLIES AND INSECTS WE USE:
All of the real Butterflies and insects used in our framed shadowbox butterfly art have been raised on natural cruelty free tropical farms around the world. These educational farms, aviaries and co-ops provide a real source of income for native people who would otherwise have to sell trees off of their land or raise cattle which are both ecologically disastrous. Tropical insects are important members of these fragile ecosystems. If their natural habitats are allowed to disappear, then they to will vanish forever. Everything possible must be done to preserve them.
Proudly hand making the highest museum quality framed insects one at a time since 1992.
