This is a batch of orange scales perfect for enhancing your jewelry creations. They are made from anodized aluminum and have been die cut from the aluminum after the anodization process so the edges are uncolored.
They're 7/8" long by 1/2" wide, and because they are aluminum, they are extremely lightweight, won't rust or patina, and have vibrant, beautiful colors.
Anodizing aluminum is a process of permanently changing the surface of aluminum to a unique color through the use of an electrified dye bath. Although the color is permanent, all anodized metals should be treated with gentle care to avoid scratching or abrading the surface. If needed, these scales can be cleaned with a gentle liquid soap and warm water, and dried gently with a soft cloth.
These scales are made by stacking many sheets of anodized metal and die-cutting them all at once. The sheets are lightly oiled to minimize sticking and overheating the die cutter, and as a result some of the scales feel oily/dusty. You might find they need a quick buffing to reveal their full beauty.
I have added some photos to show you a few of the many ways these scales can be used. Have fun!
