I don't know if the same is true in your house, but in mine paper links frequently adorn our pantry door, counting down to some highly anticipated event - especially at this time of year!
I was giddy with excitement as I created this reusable chain that could "greenly" replace many of our paper versions.
This chain is made up of 12 cotton fabric topped, nylon webbing links. Each link is 1.5" wide and assembled chain's length is about 32".
Links have velcro closures that are easy enough for the smallest hands to help with the countdown. Fabric and velcro are machine stitched to hold up sturdily for many, many uses. Cotton edges are finished and top stitched for a professional look. A 1-12 numeral is on each link to assist in keeping track of the days.
Some ideas for using this chain at home or school or office:
*Countdown to a winter holiday. Perfect for the 12 days of Christmas!
*Mix it up a bit by keeping a list (or paperclip slips of paper to each link) of things each link correlates to: a song, scripture, act of service, cleaning chore (think of out of town company for the holidays!)
