The fruit seems ripe for the picking in this fiber collage. I knit the tree's trunk and limbs as a single piece and hand-sewed it to an unusual silk fabric my husband bought in a fabric shop in Mumbai, India.
The shiny gold designs on the fabric complement the orange-dyed jade beads that represent peaches, oranges, or the early changing leaves of autumn.
Three different yarns created the green leaves. A few embroidery stitches produced the grass at the base of the tree trunk.
Enjoy this fiber collage seasonally or year-round, at home or at work.
Mounted on acid-free mounting board, matted on an orange-ish tan color, and ready to frame.
