Stunning 1920s period ring with an intricate open-work setting and a faceted glass feature stone. The sterling silver band is beautifully pierced to create an elegant, delicate filigree setting. The lower shank of the band is the only part of the setting that is not filigreed and even this portion features a flower motif. The upper shank of the ring stretches up to frame the feature stone, giving the ring a very high profile. The celadon faceted glass is a fancy emerald cut with some characteristics of a radiant cut. The beautifully faceted pavillion of the stone is visible in the open-back setting. The stone is held securely with four prongs. There is noticable damage to all four corners of the faceted glass crown, as well as nicks and scratches on other parts of the stone and some tarnish on the setting. Overall the ring is exquisite.
