DIAMANTA is based on an old lace design called cockleshells, which is normally knit very tightly; we have updated it for a modern look with larger needles and a glamorous yarn combo. French Girl walks you through it step-by-step, so be brave and take the plunge! A pattern swatch is your best friend here.

MEASURE: 62-72”(158-183cm) x 25”(63.5cm). DIAMANTA’s drapey beauty may be worn by all; width could be adjusted by increasing or decreasing 12-row pattern repeat, and the length by casting on more stitches in multiples of 19, adding 2 sts at the very end for selvedge (K 2).
GAUGE: One pattern repeat (19+4 sts) = 8-9in (20-23cm) width by 5”(13cm) length with#13 (9mm) needles. Swatch to determine the looseness you prefer, remembering that gauge will expand after blocking. Since the wrap stretches naturally length-wise and needs to be blocked widthwise, gauge is somewhat fluid; size up or down depending on desired finished look. At least 4 pattern repeats in width are recommended; determine final width as you work on garment.
