The sliding back cover is removable and currently held in place with tape. The miniature pine cone pendulum doesn't move, but sure looks cute. Comes with a key (not the original) that does a great job of winding up this twenty four hour wonder. Hour and minute hands are made of metal. The chalet measures 6" by 6", and the bouncy girl adds another 6". Need a break from the tickety? The spring has a wide metal ring that can be placed just inside the ledge of the bottom opening, stopping the clock.
