Disappearing large majestic elms inspired me to draw elm leaves--in different stages of decomposition--and render them with curving beer bottle glass esoteric. The pieces are copper-foiled and soldered back together with lead free solder--copper rods and ball bearing swivels complete the mobile concept.
An empty and forlorn Paulaner Salvator from Germany paired nicely with one nibbled elm leaf design, and a Polish Zywiec Porter for a nicely curving four inch, and a Belgian Tripel Karmeliet and a Bell's Two Hearted Ale from the Upper Peninsula round out the ensemble.
The leaves range in size from 1 3/4" long to approximately 4" long with copper rods six to eight inches--perfect to dangle from that little corner of contemplation.
Drop me a line if you'd like to begin a surreptitious writ-a-thon (fotos of cats in lingerie are not required), regarding your own leaf mobile. You decide the style, intricacy and number of leaves, color and type of bottles, and I start configuring. Hooray for leaves!
