Its functional prong length is 4 3/4 inches(12.2cm) and its overall length is a little over 6 inches(15.2cm). The decorative top is 2 inches wide(5cm). This is a design that Stacy has been working on and the results are amazing! the inner paisley is cut and lapidaried from an abalone shell,inlaid into a piece of gabon ebony as the second layer and then we inlaid a copper chain around those and shaped it all to fit into the fork! this fork does have a little weight to it, it would probably work best in thicker hair, or for someone who prefers a fork with a bit of presence. It is very comfortable on the head, as well as striking to behold!
Our hair forks are well finished and sealed. They do not need any type of maintenance, just clean with a soft damp cloth if needed.
We make each of these by hand so we will gladly accomodate requests for longer/shorter tines.We use a pattern so that you know if you order another it will be very close to the same shape. We also do custom embellishing , if you would like a different stone or something carved.An addtional fee may apply.

How to care for your wooden hair toys!
1. Do not store them in the sun ,that includes in the car or by a window. But wear them in the sun and be happy!
2. Do not drop them!
3. Do not use them as a screwdriver or paint can opener!
4.They are natural wood, they CAN break…put as little sideways pressure as possible on them. WE do take hair pressures into account and under normal hair updos they should be fine, including lots of hair!
5.Do not let the dog have it!;0)
6.Even though they are sealed and would weather rain or damp hair,do not swim in them!
7.ENJOY!
If your hair toy from us breaks for seemingly no reason, please send the parts back and if it is not salvageable we will replace it, you just pay the shipping. If you drop or break it we will salvage it for a small fee or give a discount on a new one if it is not salvageable. We understand that life, kids, pets, and accidents happen! (salvageable would be, for example, to turn a broken 3 tine fork into a 2 tine and a single stick. We do not feel that a glue-up would be an acceptable way to save a fork.)
