Summer sun - light through petals and leaves . . .
This is a signed giclee print on finest quality textured paper with my signature (in pencil) beneath the image.
I count myself fortunate to be living by the sea along a stretch of beautiful coastline in Cornwall, England, near to the world reknowned Minack Theatre. The Minack is an inspiring open air theatre built into the side of the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean where dolphins & seals are often seen. I walk these cliff paths almost daily and am inspired to paint the colours I find - the openness & the light airiness. Each season brings it's offerings & inspirations - for example, summer brings these beautiful white flowers that seem to dissolve in golden sunlight.
I have painted and sold my artwork professionally for over 20 years, having been selected to exhibit frequently at The Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Palace, The National Trust, and various London Galleries. I have also won awards from The British Watercolour Society and The Mail on Sunday.
If you buy this print, I hope it brightens up your home!
The following is an excerpt from an article written about my artwork by English arts historian Cath Wallace:
"Inspired by nature, Joanne Poore creates images in mixed media, watercolour and oil that are as mercurial as dreams. She has developed her highly sensitive style and palette of colour in her art over a period of more than 20 years.Having received awards from the British Watercolour Society and The Mail on Sunday, and with her work in many private collections, Joanne has established herself as an exciting painter whose work packs an emotional punch.
Her imagery is hard to pin down, the recognisable is only a feeling - an impression or memory of a day by the sea, a walk through the fields, or a particular flower. She has developed her own visual language to explore this inner world of feeling. Her paintings require close attention, perhaps contemplation; for they are not summed up in a single glance and with reflection can trigger emotions in the viewer that come as a surprise. Atmospheric, expressive use of colour - lime greens and aquamarines - deep purples and mauves - reds, pinks, peaches - combine to create paintings that are ethereal and poetic but with great depth of feeling.
It's always a thrill to see what Joanne produces. Without doubt she is an artist to follow - so watch this space…"
