If you are a lover of amethyst and purple things, I have a number of similar amethyst specimens which I would be happy to build into one of these rings for you. Please see this sold listing to see what these big amethyst pieces look like: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/23514504
The focus of this ring is an absolutely massive specimen of citrine. Citrine is the yellow, orange, and/or brown quartz. It is also the birthstone of November.
This ring is definitely not for the faint of heart. The specimen is quite large, at over 1 1/4" across, and around 1" in height.
The bezel that the citrine is seated in was a very time consuming piece to create. It is built of sterling silver, which was layered, textured, made molten, cooled, and built up to the result you see here. After building the bezel, I gave the silver a rich glow using a stainless steel brush.
The ring band for this ring is a wide 1/2". I have debossed it with a large woodgrain pattern. The debossing is done using a rolling mill and a textured metal plate, here in my studio. You can choose any ring band texture that you see in this listing: http://www.etsy.com/listing/58643323/textured-sterling-silver-band-custom
As the specimen is not yet permanently set, I am able to size this ring to fit any finger you have. Just let me know in the 'message to seller' area during check-out. Also, if you wish to have a different pattern on the band, you can choose from any other texture you see in my shop.
When deciding upon your size, it would be best to add at least 3/4 to your present ring size- this will ensure a comfortable fit under the wide band. As with all of my rings, the band is polished to a high shine inside, and given a comfortable, rounded rim.
The pieces of citrine that I currently have available in my studio are in the final picture- please list your preference during checkout.
