Shetland may not be as soft as merino, but it is still next-to-the-skin wearable, and has much more character and texture. The natural near-black picks up the colours of the dye subtly, and the silk streaks are beautiful.
I dye extremely carefully to avoid matting, and always dye to exhaustion to prevent excess dye rinsing or rubbing off when you have spun or felted the fibre, and also to protect the environment. It is packaged in cellophane.
