Catherine Howard ( also spelled Katherine or Katheryn), was the fifth wife of Henry VIII of England, and sometimes known by his reference to her as his "rose without a thorn".
Catherine's birth date and place of birth are unknown (but occasionally cited as 1521 or 1525. . She was the daughter of Lord Edmund Howard and a first cousin of the King's second wife, Anne Boleyn. Catherine married Henry VIII on 28 July 1540, at Oatlands Palace in Surrey, right after the annulment of his marriage to Anne of Cleves was arranged. However , once again Henry became suspicious and she was beheaded after less than two years of marriage to Henry on the grounds of treason, meaning adultery committed while married to the King.
Catherine is created wearing a soft sea foam green overskirt of silk overlaying a gold and green brocade underskirt. She has matching hood , gold accents her costume, and she has a brown fur draped stole.
Each detail of her face was painted by hand, she stands a tiny little 4 1/2 inches tall, (11.4 cm.) Any Tudor fan would love to add her to their collection!
