This handmade flower fascinator is inspired by the Icelandic Poppy and features freehand embroidered double nested petals, hand embroidered French knot stamen, and a freshwater pearl center.
The fabric is a vibrant red silk dupioni with coral embroidery. The French knots in the center are done in black embroidery floss, but I can make the center any color you'd like- burgundy, yellow, you name it!
I make my flowers myself- no mass produced store bought stuff here. 100% beautiful and unique! I create the flowers by a freehand embroidery technique- basically I use my sewing machine as a drawing tool and "draw" the flowers onto fabric like using paper and pencil. The center of the flower is embroidered by hand with the French knot stitch. The pearl I use for the center is a genuine freshwater button pearl. The flower is then sewn & glued onto an alligator clip, and I use a special technique to ensure no snagging in your hair.
Flower is about 4" in diameter (10.2 cm), however I can make this flower smaller if you'd like, just ask! I can also make this design in just about any color scheme.
All edges of fabric are treated with Dritz Fray-Check, to prevent fraying. I use the best materials and construction methods- this is a mini piece of fiber art!
