The wood for the board came from an ice storm damaged tree in Pittsfield, MA. The warm cherry color, natural edges and elongated shape make it a really beautiful piece. The cheese/cutting board measures approx. 17.5 inches long. The color of cherry wood continues to deepen with time, so this piece will grow and change with you over the years. The serving/ cutting surface measures approximately 7 inches across on the side with the natural edge exposed. This cheese/ cutting board is also one-of-a kind and will look fabulous in any style of kitchen. It is also reversible, one side may be used for your cutting needs and the other for presentation if you wish. This board comes with a recycled leather strap so that the board may decoratively hang out of the way when not in use. The leather is a re-purposed cut off from a belt maker in our town. The board is finished with olive oil. Care instructions are included.
The ceramic dishes are perfect for serving mustards or other spreads, pickles, tomatoes, olives or other hors d'oeuvres that suit your palate. They are quirky and handbuilt, made with mid range stoneware clay. They are glazed with a non-toxic, food safe spectacular brown glazes that I mix by hand. They are dishwasher safe, though I recommend washing by hand. The beautiful geometric pattern on the plate was created by pressing an antique doily. The plate measures approx. 5 inches in length and 4 inches across. The mini bowl is a free form pinch pot with a lovely scalloped edge. It measures approx. 3 inches in diameter and holds about 1/4 cup of spread.
This beautifully crafted, unique, and fun combination set will make a great addition to your kitchen and also makes a lovely gift for weddings or for anyone who enjoys cheese, food and entertaining.
