This delightfully grim little book features my photographs of 26 unaltered Stick Figure Man signs, with alliterative text that hints at the stories behind these elaborate accidents. Think of it as a primer for a dangerous world.
Humor for adults. Is it child-appropriate? Well, my kids like it. But then, we sing songs about chopping off monsters' heads and eating them for dinner, so we may not be the best barometer. If it's any guideline, this book echoes Gorey's "Gashlycrumb Tinies" in the level of maiming, assaulting, and other mayhem that goes on within. Oh, and you may have to explain to the kids what Xanax is. Hey, X is a tough letter.
We all take a misstep now and then. The “Accident ABC's” will help us keep it all in perspective.
