This design complements my "HANDS KNIT No. 3 Philadelphia 1904" Note Card & Postcard sets.
How I Make Them
I began with a 1904 antique photograph of a young Philadelphia girl knitting, which I restored, digitally altered and outlined in shades of chocolate brown, against a vintage brocade pattern in cream and olive green. Below the knitting girl I've written "Hand Knit".
I print my artwork on heavyweight card stock, using a combination of color laser toner inks for permanence, and pigmented ink jet inks for brilliance.
Then I hand-cut each tag with smooth edges and rounded corners, to measure about 3-1/2 inches x 2 inches, and attach a matching sage green organza ribbon tie.
Fiber Care Wording
On the back, I've printed Fiber Care text, "Hand Knit for You", and "Fiber Content:", and "Fiber Care", on the same brocade pattern as the front.
Packing & Shipping
I slip each set of fiber care tags into a cello sleeve as shown here. Then I mail them in protective cardboard envelopes to prevent postal damage.
