This sweet doll's name is Orianna.
She wants to be a pop star. Orianna wears beaded sandals and a tutti frutti curly mane of hair. She likes to sing in the shower and has many hidden talents. Her button joints give her plenty of mobility (I wonder if I put buttons on my own elbows and knees, if I would have more energy ?

This pattern is very easy and perfect for beginner doll makers. This is a very detailed pattern that reads like an E-book. This is my very first pattern. It's a bit nostalgic to me, and has never been redrawn because I kind of like the hand-drawn pattern pages. A A beginner pattern from my humble beginnings... and it is still one of my favorites.
No doubt this doll will be a great learning experience and an heirloom for many years to come!
MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE PATTERN:
Orianna was originally taught online as a doll class. The pattern has many step-by-step photos designed to make this as clear and easy as possible. Here are the different chapters or "classes:"
CLASS ONE- Torso
Orianna’s torso is quite shapely- it goes together easily and will make you smile when you see it!
CLASS TWO- Hands, Arms
The hands in this pattern are just something special! They turn very nicely, and the shape is delicate and proportional. Something really special! Learn some of the best secrets for perfect cloth doll hands: freezer paper, fray check, special techniques, nifty tools and more!
CLASS THREE- Legs, Feet
Long, slender legs, needle sculpted feet and knees… What more could a girl ever want?
CLASS FOUR- Garments
In this lesson, I’ll give away some of my “dress making” secrets. Learn how to think outside the box and dress the doll with clever tucks and pleats rather than elaborate time-consuming miniature patterns. Orianna is a fun doll, and I’ll teach you how to treat clothing as “embellishments.” You’ll be dressing your dolls in surprising ways that are so effectively wonderful!
CLASS FIVE- Head, Theory, Needle Sculpting
How do we create a delicate smile with a needle and thread? How can we achieve the "look" we want? What is the thread doing under there, and how is it like our own face muscles?
Very detailed, step-by-step instructions that will have you needle sculpting with confidence, and understanding how to do it on your own with any doll.
CLASS SIX- Coloring the Face, Attaching Hair
You can root hair into the head... no glue necessary. It's easy, and looks just fabulous. Coloring the face is not as hard as it looks with my step-by-step instructions.
Shading, contours, eye shape, definition- it's all in here. Easy step-by-step instructions for coloring a gorgeous face. Tons of pictures to guide you all the way!
Detailed instructions for needle felting hair.
