Serene Birch Forest brings a sense of peaceful relaxation into the room.
This stunning overall stencil pattern looks great simply rolled over faux mottled background or solid background color. Very interesting effects can be achieved with shimmering metallics or glazes.
This stencil design will look stunning on you accent wall. Easy registration system, simply line up your stencil with the design of previously painted print, check for level and continue. This gives you a seamless "wallpaper" look. While prior stenciling experience is recommended for allover patterns, even beginner stencilers get great results! This design is recommended for feature/accent wall and also works for furniture and fabric embellishment.
Single overlay design.
Sheet size: 26x48"
The actual design width is 24.5", height is 44.5".

Stencil comes in attractive packaging and makes a great GIFT!
If you compare our stencil thickness, size, design quality and prices, you will be amazed at the value that Cutting Edge Stencils offer!
We even included a FREE TOP STENCIL: the top part of the design cut as a separate smaller stencil. It makes it easy to fill those gaps in the pattern close to the ceiling.
Don't forget the TOOLS for your stenciling project! This Stencil Essentials kit contains a dense foam roller, a stencil brush and our innovative clip-on stencil level AND it saves you 10%!
Since it is a "reverse" stencil design, you should start with the lighter background which will become the color of your birch trunks, and apply the darker stenciling color, which will become the birch spots and the space between branches.

You can stencil with acrylic or latex paint, stencil creams or fabric paint of your choice. Use a foam roller or stencil brush.
We find that it is not necessary to use spray adhesive with our stencils. However, if you want very crisp edges or are using high contrasting colors, please use it (Elmer's spray adhesive seems to be the best). I personally prefer just to attach pieces of blue painter's tape to secure the stencil, but for beginners it may be helpful to mist a stencil with spray adhesive just to make sure you get great results.
About seepage and imperfections: Even with a properly loaded roller and correct technique you might get some minor paint seepage here and there. In most cases it’s not noticeable, especially from a couple of feet away and it can be easily touched up with a small brush. Don’t forget that you’re creating a “hand-painted wall finish”. A few imperfections and some paint seepage here and there are natural and inevitable for this type of work. To avoid seepage, use spray adhesive and less paint on your roller and brush.
The stencil is made out of durable 12 mil clear plastic stencil material. This material is strong but flexible, reusable and easy to clean. We love it so much more than standard 8 mil Mylar! It's not brittle, user friendly and just so easy to work with. In our many years of professional stenciling this material has proven to be far superior than any other stencil material we used. Our customers love it too, and we are sure that you'll notice the difference! Our stencils will last a long time and are a pleasure to use.
When stenciling on fabric, stencil adhesive is very halpful. First, tape your ironed fabric to the surface so it doesn't move around while you stencil. Use stencil brushes, or roller, and add some textile medium ( sold in craft stores) to your acrylic paint. You can also get a special fabric paint, but, frankly, good craft acrylics with a dollop of textile medium work just as well, and cost way less too! :) Let the stenciled image dry completely, 24 hours is best, then heat-set it by ironing the fabric for about 20 sec. ( more or less) on a LOW setting through the piece of cloth. Heat-setting will cure the paint and will prevent it from being washed off in the washing machine. Always experiment with a sample of your fabric first to ensure good results. I've stenciled on silk, cotton, linen and even sheer fabrics with great results. It's always better if your fabric doesn't have too much texture.
Here's a testimonial from one of our happy customers, Bernie Forese from The Faux Pro (take a look at the beige foyer pic):
"I just finished a job using the birch tree stencil and I want to share the photos with you. ... the architect (homeowner) wanted the stencil floor to ceiling including the raised panel doors. Thank you for your stencils; they are wonderful! The quality is amazing and, with so many branches and details, they held up GREAT!.
Thank you, again, for your GREAT designs and your top quality product!!!"
This stencil was recently featured on CityLine TV in Canada and demo-ed by Sharon Grech of Benjamin Moore Paint.
