Majolica is a favorite way to decorate pottery. Using colored oxides or glazes, I paint designs on an unfired white tin glaze. When in the kiln, the glazes melt together, giving each piece a soft appearance. The colors will never rub off since they are fired into the glaze.
Each butterfly has visible brushstrokes, and is a true individual piece of craftsmanship.
++ The front is glossy, but the back is unglazed, allowing you to personalize it yourself with a permanent marker or a paint pen or some such.
