This is a superb pair of pre-ban genuine ivory bracelets carved with a relief pattern of phoenix birds and lotus flowers. Each bangle has two phoenix' and two lotus flowers carved on it, so the pattern goes completely around the bracelets. The carvings are detailed and very graceful and well done. These are unique and unusual ivory pieces. The bracelets have an interior diameter of 2 1/8 inches. The bracelets are 1/2 inches wide and 5/16 inches thick at the widest point. These will fit a petite or small wrist, a typical size for older ivory bangles.

The bracelets are polished to a semi gloss finish. The ivory texture is clear and distinct on each bracelet, with ivory Schreger lines and crosshatching visible on both pieces. The ivory is a lightly yellowed creamy color.

There are no cracks, chips, scratches, or scuffs on either piece. An amazing and magical set.
