There are over thirty species of budgies that are available today and they are all descendants of the original light green coloured Australian budgie. Nowadays the original Australian Budgie is a protected species and cannot be kept in captivity. Australia has the most amazing native birds, and the budgie is one of them
This pattern set includes full instructions for making a crocheted budgerigar. I have included excellent step by step photos. The budgie is worked in 8ply, double knit or worsted weight yarn using a 4mm hook. They are a great use of all those scraps of yarn as you have fun making your own mutations.
The finished budgie measure 17cm/7inches tip of tail to top of head, or 10cm/4inches when sitting. They are pretty much life size.
Instructions are provided in both Australian/ English and American terms. Patterns will be emailed to you in a pdf format. There are no shipping costs. Remember I am real Aussie bird and may be asleep while you are awake having fun on etsy.
Copy Cats aren't cool! All designs are fair dinkum original and are protected by copyright. While I am happy for you to make these for personal use, gifts and limited charity fundraising, you can not resell the pattern or sell items made from the pattern. (c)crochetroo 2007
