Careful advance planning of the color scheme and fabric placement (using the coloring page provided) is essential for successfully sewing this intermediate level level paper piecing pattern. It is NOT suitable for beginning paper piecers.
Prairie point fins make wonderful 3-D tactile details for baby quilts and wall hangings. Alternatively, paper piece the fins or even omit them if you prefer. Eyes may be embroidered or painted with fabric paints; beads or buttons can also be used on projects destined for children older than 3 years.
The fish tessellation pattern includes clearly labeled paper piecing patterns and full instructions. As provided, the patterns make a 3 x 5-3/4 inch (7.6 x 14.6 cm) fish. For other sizes, a percentages chart (included) guides you in resizing the fish pattern as desired.
