Limited Edition, Original, Linocut print. Incoming Tide, Dunstanburgh, Northumberland

Original, limited edition, lino cut print, The Incoming Tide at Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland, England. This is a wild place on the North Sea coast where the sea at high tide rushes to meet the ancient ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. I have tried to capture the wildness of the sea and the mystery of the ruins at this beauitiful place.
The print is made using the reduction technique which works by cutting away at the lino for each layer of colour. The result is that the print cannot be reproduced after the original run of 6 prints. The print is completely hand made on my kitchen table using a hand burnishing technique.
