Charles Darwin 1809-1882

"Seldom in the history of English prose has such a dangerous, disruptive, consequential book been so modest and affable in tone"

Each of the nine Butterflies are built with wonderful words and associated images from the 'Origin of Species' by none other than Charles Darwin.

The black and white illustrations marry beautifully to the text and include a centrally placed image of the man himself.

The poignant extracts and images are very carefully chosen by me, the butterflies hand cut, hand threaded, assembled and attached. Though they may look dainty, they will certainly outlive me.

The piece will come to you in a black wood shadow box measuring 28.5cm x 23.5cm (outer dimensions of the frame) which can be either freestanding or hung.

This piece will be dispatched within 2 working days of purchase.
