This 100% merino wool felt is made from natural, renewable, dyed wool fiber from merino sheep, pressed together using a needle felt/steam process to produce a fabric specifically created for the handwork and fine craft marketplace. It is color fast and fade-resistant. It is very soft, cuts cleanly, does not fray and holds stitches beautifully. It has a nice ‘body’ and holds up very well with use and handling. This pure wool felt is the fabric of choice for Waldorf crafts and other fine needlework projects.
Manufactured in Europe, this fabric meets BSI Safety Standards and is safe for children's toys. Wool is naturally flame-resistant, water-repellent and insulating in both hot and cold temperatures.
This particular type of wool felt is environmentally friendly and ‘close to the sheep’. It hasn’t been overly processed. The sheep’s fiber has simply been cleaned, carded, dyed and pressed into fabric.
