The top symbol or pattern is known as either the Seed of Life or the Flower of Life, depending on your source. I am fascinated with this symbol. It is so ancient that it cannot be attributed to a single culture. It has been found in India, Japan, Ireland, the American west and so on.
The paper was made in my studio. It is a combination of cotton, flax and gampi. Much of the whites, grays and blues in the image are actually in the paper.
