If I wanted a lamp for whacking the occasional intruder, this it the lamp I'd choose. It's solidly build, has good weight to it, and would serve as a good burglar deterrent. It also highlights the many subtle colors revealed in forged and brushed steel.
Don't be misled by cheap knock-offs! These lamps were hand-forged and built by me, here in Easthampton Massachusetts. I'm a one-man show, and make an effort to keep my work affordably-priced. You could probably buy a lamp built in a Chinese sweatshop for less...but honestly, what are the real costs associated with sending our money overseas like that? I shop here in town, I eat here in town, and my garbage is picked up by people on bicycles.
