THE ACORN has long symbolized potential, strength, and patience…
as expressed in the proverb
"Mighty oaks from little acorns grow,"
& even
"Every majestic oak tree was once a nut who stood his ground."
These statements reflect on the potential within people and their ideas.
The mighty oak…
which grows to an old age of hundreds of years,
passing through all the frosts and droughts and adverse conditions,
symbolizing greatness and perseverance through trials and hardships
…arises from a little acorn.

Here’s a quick listing for a *copper electroformed glass acorn, handmade by ME in my Credit River, Minnesota glass studio.
Acorn Measurements in millimeters: Standard size
Cap to tip: 25
Diameter of cap: 22
Top of loop to tip: 31
I include a large Vintaj brass jump ring so it’s an instant pendant. Hang from a silk ribbon, leather, chain, etc...
The first 3 pictures is the acorn in this listing.
The 4th picture shows difference in standard & mini acorn sizes, a penny, cheez-it & an 11 year old's hand. (his idea) Neither acorns are part of this listing & are no longer available.
Last picture is a sample of an acorn & an etched copper oak leaf together...they hang quite nicely! Check out my etched copper oak leaf listings.
*Copper electroforming, in a nutshell, is the process of building up a thick layer of copper using electricity & a chemical solution onto a surface that is either metal or, for something like glass, has been painted with a metallic paint where the copper is to be deposited.
**There is NO real acorn cap under the copper... just glass.
Remember that colors & intensity will vary from monitor to monitor. I've tried to represent my lampwork glass pieces as close to reality as possible on my monitor, but they may appear a shade lighter or darker than reality on yours.

About my beads & glass objects...
...all of my glass beads & objects are handmade by me, one at a time, in my Credit River, Minnesota glass studio, so no two are ever identical. I use torch, rods of glass and some really cool tools! :o) My beads are made of soft “soda lime” glass rods, mainly Italian Moretti and Vetrofond glasses & American glasses by Double Helix & CIM (Creation is Messy). After each bead is finished, they immediately go from flame to a digitally controlled kiln where they’re annealed for strength, durability & safety. I clean out all signs of bead release & look them over thoroughly for any flaws or cracks.
