It has an adjustable hood, and has three temperature settings - low, medium and high - plus a mist setting. It collapses into a small suitcase-sized container with a handle for portability.
According to the instruction booklet, it has a non-tip base, has a built-in storage area for the cord, pins & rollers, and weighs 13 pounds.
I was not able to find any information on the Montgomery Ward Signature Console Hair Dryer in my research, but by comparing it to other similar models, I estimate that this hair dryer was made in the early 1970s.
I tested it, and the heated hair dryer setting does work. However, given the age of this dryer, I would recommend having it assessed by an electrician for safety if you want to use it functionally instead of simply for vintage decor.
There are a few small smudges on the hood, but overall this console hair dryer is in excellent vintage condition!
This would look great in the window of a salon, or a great prop for a movie or photo shoot as well!
