Unbelievable and rare early 20th century locket from the Bliss Brother's company of Attleboro, MA. At two inches in diameter, this locket is unusually large, with beautiful engravings on both faces. One face features the name "Garnett" in embellished script - probably the prettiest name engraving I've seen on a piece of jewelry. This name peaked in popularity for both boys and girls in the 1900s and 1910s in the United States. The other face has a minimalist floral motif, with french curves surrounding a central bloom that resembles a pansy. The locket hinges open from the bottom to reveal a clean interior with no frames or bezels. The interior could accommodate two rather large photos, thanks to the size of the piece. The locket closes with a clean snap.
This was obviously a well-loved and frequently worn locket, as it has some scuffs and scratches as well as a couple of shallow dents. These condition issues are quite minor and do not affect the overall appearance of the piece. The locket tests between 10K and 14K gold and I've added a 14K gold fill chain to match.
