The cover of this leather journal is brushed cowhide leather in a brick red colour. Book size is about 7" X 4ΒΌ" and 1.5" thick (18cm X 11cm X 3cm).
There are 320 pages (when you count both sides of each sheet) and the paper is ivory Strathmore drawing paper, with torn edges.
This journal has a wrap-around cover and it is kept neat with a strap that wraps around a couple times.
The pages are handbound using a combination of longstitch and chainstitch binding techniques, sewn with red linen thread and visible on the spine in an X pattern. This type of binding makes a very sturdy and practical book structure that opens flat.

About the Artist, Rhonda Miller
I have been bookbinding and experimenting in the realm of book arts for over ten years. My handbound journals are made very carefully, one at a time, to ensure that they are both durable and beautiful. Many of the techniques employed in creating a journal are centuries and I am constantly working to learn more about ancient bookbinding methods that can be used with modern materials to make unique and functional journals.
