An elementary design, uncomplicated colors come together to create this lovely contemporary quilt. The flower square is sky blue, the highlights are medium blue, the background is buttercream, the inside frame is dark olive, the outside frame is honey, the decorative squares are another shade of olive, the small squares are indigo blue and the flower seeds are onyx. It is machine pieced and free-motion quilted.
This quilt measures 57” x 57” and it 100% cotton - top, back and batting. The tight quilting (1/4” apart overall) gives it an easy drape and sophisticated, smooth look. I used Cherrywood fabrics for the top. They are 100% cotton, expertly dyed so the colors stay bright and true wash after wash. The back is muted green plaid. This would make a lovely crib quilt, a throw or wall hanging (I will happily hand stitch a sleeve for you – all you have to do is ask.) However you choose to use it, it will last and last. It’s also easy to care for as it goes into the washer and dryer and comes out looking perfect.
