So, I decide to make some actual robins eggs,
to go with my whole robins egg blue scheme.
What can I say, I love this color!
Growing up in rural New Mexico, as kids
we were privy to many found bird’s nests.
I remember our eyes cresting over the nest edge,
which was held delicately in my father’s hands.
He always had a mischievous smile on his face
knowing what kind of discovery we were about to make…
And of course, winter is also on the way,
if not already arrived, where you are!
So I was thinking about the question -
what does your winter smell like?
Here, it is thick salty mists
from heavy waves crashing,
sandalwood, saffron, eucalyptus,
and the wet earth in my soggy garden.
So those are my new little eggs!
