Look for this doll in the Fall 2012 issue of Art Doll Quarterly!
Wednesday is sculpted in polymer clay over armature. Her eyes are handmade by me. Her hair is viscose. Her arms are posable while her legs are stationary. She carries a tiny little doll (2.5 inches tall) which was sculpted in paperclay. Wednesday's necklace is a velvet collar with a creepy little spider pendant and her buttons are handmade (one is chipped on purpose). Her dress is a black polyester fabric with white lacey trim. Wednesday needs a doll stand to help her stay upright and is 9.5 inches tall.
Wednesday is an Art Doll. Art dolls are not meant to be played with. They are one of a kind works of art and should be handled and displayed in the same manner that a sculpture would be. Wednesday was created with the adult collector in mind and should never be given to children.
Handmade, one of a kind, art dolls are never perfect. That's the beauty of them, really. Tiny imperfections only add to the doll's character and charm.
