First I made patterned rods called murrini in the torch to snip and use as the flowers' centers and little striped glass cane for the stems. For the bitty flowers, I use a special glass called Wasser that comes in tiny circle and flower shapes. Next I layer all these components on top of a solid piece of glass and fire it upside down to make the patterns sink in. After I grind it to refine the shape, I refire the piece. Then I sandblast it and fire yet again to create a satin finish. The smooth texture feels like beach glass. The earrings have sterling components and an onyx accent bead.
