i saw my first hummingbird in person this summer at lily dale, a victorian town filled with spiritualist mediums. i spent two days there seeking answers from the dead and left feeling a bit of peace.
the second time i saw a hummingbird in person is when i took a recent trip out to san francisco where i had a show of paintings with writer danielle vogel. these paintings were based on our trip to lily dale together and the curious notion of whether one can continue a relationship with the dead once they've passed.
in a way this necklace is a tribute to those two hummingbirds i saw this year, as well as a good luck talisman.
paired with a gunmetal bar link chain, contrasting shades of rose gold and gunmetal for a lovely result.
hummingbirds measure 1 3/4 inches wide and i inch long on a 18 inch chain, measure 10 inches on each side.
