Raku is an ancient Japanese method of firing porcelain. The beads are placed into a very hot kiln and a large air-tight container of shredded newspaper. The beads come out with vivid colors and sheen. Fire and smoke create the matte black surface areas that are not glazed.

These Raku beads are a pretty pink and each bead is approx. 3/4" (1.91cm) wide by 1/2" (1.27cm) tall. All of the silver is plated.

Earrings hang about 1 1/4" (3.97cm) from the hooks.

A pair of rubber ear backs is also included.
