Looks Like the Coat worn in the movie "The Bishop's Wife"
Fantastic Condition and XL Size!!
Description: Sensational vintage fur coat. I believe the fur is mouton in a very dark brown. I have NEVER felt fur as luxurious as this! It is velvety smooth and ultra soft! It reminds me of a longer version of the coat worn by Loretta Young in the movie "The Bishop's Wife" (see last photo). There is no size tag so please see measurements below to ensure a proper fit. It fits XL or 1X.
Features of this lovely vintage fur coat include a shawl collar, 3/4 length sleeves, three large ribbon and soutache covered buttons and elastic cord for closure, a full brown satin style lining with a beautiful rose print, and two felt lined side pockets. A smaller button attaches near the top for extra closure of the collar and two heavy ribbon ties are attached to the inside right side with a thread loop on the left for extra inside closure to keep out the winter cold. The initials "M K" are embroidered on the inside right side.
Measurements (taken with coat fastened and from the outside) : Shoulder to shoulder 18 inches, Underarm to underarm 24 inches (same measurement from the inside), Shoulder to end of sleeve 21 1/2 inches, Underarm to end of sleeve 12 1/2 inches, Side of waist to side of waist approx 25 inches, Side of hips to side of hips approx 26 inches, Back of neck to bottom hem 43 inches, and Side to side along bottom hem 29 inches.The upper back....measured from the inside at the center of the arm hole seam to the other side).....measures 17 1/2 inches.
This coat is in very good condition with a few fixable issues: The right pocket lining is detached along one side and will need to be restitched. There is a 2 inch open pelt on the right arm just above the underarm....and two open seams on either side of the neckline of the lining. The button threads are slightly loose.
