they recently rebuilt the boardwalk at hammonasset beach in madison, conn., and one of my reclaiming minions was able to liberate a chunk of the boardwalk from the pile slated for the dump it was getting tossed in to.
it was like a guerilla reclaiming operation. take that, tom cruise.
normally i wouldn't work with treated lumber like that they use for decks and such, but c'mon, this is the hammonasset boardwalk!
i wanted to leave whatever i made out of this as "fresh from the beach" as possible, so very little sanding and no stains, oils or finishes were used. it still even smells like the beach!
this bench or coffee table is perfect for indoor or outdoor use (i mean, if it can handle january AND july on the ct shore for 30 years or so, it can handle anything you have happening in your back yard!)
she measures 38" X 19" X 18" tall and needs a good beach-lover's home.
local pick up and delivery is always an option. shipping in the continental US will be via greyhound express (which means you need to pick it up at your nearest bus station). if shipping ends up costing less than the price below i will refund you. if you're out of country or in alaska or hawaii, contact me about shipping options.
thanks for looking!
