"Owl and Pussycat" illustrates the beloved children's classic: here the pussycat is the one who plays the violin for the shy owl on their "boat of love."
This piece is and 8 1/2 inches in diameter (from star tip to start tip), and burned on wood. All of the outlines, and the patterns of the sky are wood burn markings, including the shading on the pussycat's coat!
For added flair, we used a soft wash of watercolor to color our main characters, the ocean, and stars and moon. There is also a vintage pale cream ribbon on the ornament, for hanging
Pyrography is quite time consuming, with a remarkable amount of control required to create either soft or dark lines in the art. Often, a particular section must be gone over more than one with the burning tools. As you can imagine, this sometimes takes HOURS.
We hope you appreciate our efforts in this unique ornament, which is a great piece for the holidays, or to decorate your house during ANY season!
