Teapots are an incredibly elegant expression of ceramic work, I think. They're functional, they're traditional, and they can be incredibly beautiful.
This teapot is all three, with a little bit of modern deconstruction thrown in. That is, it's unique and funky and organic. It is handbuilt, glazed a mix of two natural, speckled glazes, with splashes of dark brown for contrast.
And it serves tea! Yay!

This is a 'second' because two of the strainer holes in the spout are covered when the glaze ran over during firing. It's still completely functional and pours wonderfully, if a little slower. Which in my opinion is actually a good thing with tea.
