This teapot is decorated with a shino glaze then a glossy black glaze was brushed over the top. It holds a generous amount of liquid, pours like a dream and has a nicely fitting lid.
Make a quick pot of tea in the microwave or keep your coffee warm in this traditional shaped teapot.
The piece was made from high fire porcelain-blend clay. The lid, spout and body were thrown on a potter's wheel and later assembled. A handle was pulled from the body of the pot.
It was fired in a gas kiln to about 2300 F making it dishwasher and microwave safe.
*Do Not use directly on stove top, the thermal shock will crack the pot*
